A new concept created by Hobrecht utilizes black, white, and grey paint that covers the ball from each athlete’s respective sport. What is created is a stark contrast between the controlled lines from Hobrecht’s painting and the chaotic splatters from each time the ball connects with the canvas. Seams from a baseball, dimples from a basketball, and laces from a football are etched into the designs left behind.
Keeping with the spirit of “Art of the Signature,” each one of these pieces showcases a big and bold autograph. At the end of the day, we believe this alone is a true art form, but now not only are you able to take home a piece of art signed by your favorite legendary athlete, but one that they helped create alongside Dave Hobrecht.
